Fiss – the golden heart
The community of Fiss lies on a flat, south-facing “sun terrace”. The Rhaeto-Romanic clustered settlement, with its 600-year-old village centre and four wooden barrel fountains, attracts holidaymakers to Tyrol in summer and winter alike.
At an elevation of 1,436 m, you can experience the four seasons to the full. From the first crocuses in April, the alpine roses in summer, the mountain meadows glowing red and yellow in autumn and the cold and snowy, romantic winter months – nature can breathe freely here and unfold in all its beauty.
The scent of summer is in the air
The decision to spend your holiday in the mountains is the right one. The journey to our mountain is an adventure in itself, with 13 hairpin bends leading up to your holiday paradise.
Having finally made it to Fiss, you are greeted by a magnificent plateau location with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. Locals and visitors alike stroll through the alleys on balmy summer nights, enjoying a fine meal or simply savouring the peace and quiet on a bench next to Lake Wolfsee. Just let go and enjoy yourself!
Winter magic up close
A winter holiday in Fiss leaves nothing to be desired. The snow sure Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis family ski resort at the foot of the Samnaun mountain range is a real treasure trove with many colourful highlights – as if tailor-made for families, sports enthusiasts and people who like to have fun. Besides the vast range of slopes, Fiss offers countless opportunities to enjoy your precious holiday in the company of your loved ones, whether doing your favourite sports, taking relaxing winter walks or sampling the culinary delights in rustic huts.
A village full of experiences
Whether you are planning a summer or winter holiday, Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is worth a visit at any time of the year. The numerous event highlights on the sun terrace of Tyrol provide plenty of fun, action and adventure. These include MOUNDS – the music festival for the whole family – the MTB Festival Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, or the Nightflow show in winter. Tradition and customs also play an important role in Fiss. The “Kirchweihfest” procession in June, the “Almabtrieb” cattle drive in autumn, the Christmas Mass or the great carnival tradition “Das Fisser Blochziehen”, where locals pull a 35-metre stone pine log through the village, are all important events on the calendar and are traditions that are kept alive proudly by the locals and passed down from one generation to the next.
